Designers and engineers made a really great job. The car was made to be more manoeuvrable, safer and ecological. The car has more powerful engine with a higher torque. Car became more stable on the road, acceleration improved.

To compare with predecessor, gearbox was remaked completely. Instead of 6 geared gearbox, now Smart has 5 geared gearbox, time between shifts is decreased.

The new "Smart Fortwo" looks wider, actually it is wider, but only by 43 mm, but it seems much wider. Car has new exterior design which made that kind of look.
